About the project
A video studio whose whole pitch is that founders are the best marketing channel.
The brief
Direct Address makes thought leadership video for B2B companies. Their pitch is uncomfortable and correct: your best marketing asset is the person who founded the thing. The identity had one job. Look like a company that makes founders worth watching, without looking like a film studio, an agency or a SaaS product.
What we did
We built the system around a spotlight. A camera or a play button describes the equipment. A spotlight describes the effect: point it at one person and everyone looks. The mark is two cones meeting at a single point, one with a blue-to-red gradient and one solid, so it reads as light going out and attention coming back. The wordmark is a heavy, tight sans that survives social crops and video end cards.
How we worked
Fifty-seven comment threads, almost all of them one line long, and not a single call. The client reviewed in the file as we worked and cut what she didn’t like. The identity got there by subtraction.
What shipped
Logo system, colour, type, social templates, business cards, merch and a full landing page.
